A note from Mrs. Harris

Happy fall everybody! It is hard to believe that we are almost one month into the 2025-2026 school year. I hope this newsletter finds you and your child(ren) enjoying the start of the year, and off to a fun, challenging, positive start. We have had a great first few weeks learning routines and expectations, and becoming familiar with our environment.

This is the time of year that we spend time getting to know what your student’s academic skills are, so that we can best meet their needs instructionally. During the last couple of weeks, all 5K, 1st, and 2nd grade students have participated in aimswebPLUS curriculum based measures in the areas of Literacy and Math (5K-2nd only). Administration of an early literacy screener is a state requirement and measures children’s knowledge of important literacy fundamentals. Results will be used to guide teachers in the development of instructional activities and practices and will allow us to better address individual student needs.

We will continue to work together toward the growth and success of our students and community.
Parent Teacher Conferences with an apple

Coming up!

An additional point of communication on student progress this fall comes in the form of Parent Teacher Conferences, which are scheduled for Thursday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 28th from 3:15-7:15. We ask that you please make attending conferences a priority, as we work in partnership to support our young people and their learning.

We will be scheduling conferences electronically through Skyward Family Access. Click HERE for a tutorial to guide you through this process.

Please log-in to Family Access to schedule your conference as soon as possible. If you do not have internet/computer access, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule your conference.

PBIS Updates

In addition to practicing behaviors that are respectful, responsible, safe and caring, we will continue to acknowledge our monthly themes to help reinforce these concepts, as well build additional skills in our students.

Our monthly themes for the year are:

September- Respect
October- Kindness
November- Responsibility
December- Self-Control
January- Empathy
February- Honesty
March- Problem-Solving
April- Caring
May- Cooperation

If your child displays behavior at home aligned to our monthly themes, don’t forgot to fill out a bucket drop, explaining their bucket filling behavior. We will acknowledge it over the announcements!
